Pacific Southwest Emmy® Awards

Earlier this month, the 39th Annual NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) Pacific Southwest Emmy® Awards were held on June 15th, at the luxurious Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, NV.  The coveted Emmy® Award was presented along with accolades to NATAS PSW Emmy® Members; from San Diego, Bakersfield, Las Vegas, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, and Palm Springs. The ever-iconic Red Carpet was rolled out for this most illustrious event, and hosted by actor Barry Shabaka Henley (Collateral, Rush Hour, The Terminal, Miami Vice). The presenter lineup included former Miss Great Britain/Actress, Liz Fuller, Las Vegas Illusionist/America's Got Talent Runner-up, Murray SawChuck, and veteran-actor, Buck Taylor (Gunsmoke, Cowboys and Aliens, Wild Wild West), which drew new media attention and sparked a buzz amongst Las Vegas visitors throughout the weekend. The event even sent Twitter trending for a portion of the evening.

 

The Pacific Southwest NATAS Chapter recognizes and honors outstanding achievements in the television community by presenting the prestigious Emmy® Award to its Chapter Members.  And NATAS membership has its perks! Included in this year's Awards, attendees actually trumped Hollywood by walking the Red Carpet not once - but twice!  And Award Recipients received Sponsor-donated gifts valued at $250+ from Haute Sisque, The SASH Bag, Bourbon Candy, and the newest vodka trend: Veved Ice Vodka.  Attendees were also eligible for styling by renowned designer Mark Roscoe, who - after debuting his new line in Washington D.C. the week prior - sponsored the Awards with outfitting several attendees and recipients with his lavish couture pieces. Another Sponsor, Nichole Macdonald (Designer of the SASH bag) noted, “It’s our privilege to support local media, and our SASH bag is a perfect fit for the modern business woman on the go.”

"Our silent auction was a great success! We raised much more than we expected for our scholarship program, and we are excited for those that will benefit from this wonderful event", said chapter member Heather Birk.
