"Master Harold and The Boys" at Community Actor's Theatre

Set in apartheid-era South Africa, Athol Fugard's "Master Harold and The Boys" examines the profoundly devastating emotional effects of institutionalized racism and bigotry. The drama focuses on young Hally (played by Jacob Gardenswartz) and the deterioration of his formerly-friendly relationship with his two older black servants, Sam (Antonio "TJ" Johnson) and Willie (Chris Carter). This award winning, "must see production" was initially banned in South Africa, though it ran on Broadway for well-over 300 performances, many of which featured a young Danny Glover as Sam. You can catch "Master Harold and The Boys" as it's performed by the Community Actors Theatre here in San Diego, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now until October 30th. Tickets are cheap, too, ($12 for students and seniors, $14 for everybody else) so don't miss out. Show up and support local theater!
